HEY, GIRLS! We love hearing from you, but feel limited in the ways we can help. For one thing, we’re not trained counselors. Thank you so much Paula! I might have already known some of these things, but it’s nice to know that you’re not the only one struggling with these kinds of things. The love that boys give isn’t satisfying, but I have heard so many people talking about the love of God so I am going to really try to pursue God instead of boys this time. Thank you so much for all your encouraging words!

  • Andro

Can you write down what we need to do.

    • Dear Andro,

My two main points in this video were to 1. repent of idolatry, and 2. push out your current boy-craziness with a concentrated pursuit of God. (More details on what that means in the video, of course.)

  • Michaela Douglass

How can I push out my current boy-craziness with a concentrated pursuit of God when I feel like God is not there? For the past 4 years I have been fighting with God. I have been through a lot of stuff I should never have gone through but God allowed those horrible things to happen in my life. I don’t know what to do.

    • We are so sorry to hear of the pain you carry in your heart, Michaela! It is so important to not believe your feelings when they are contrary to God’s Word. God is there, Michaela! And He loves you far more than you can imagine. You say that you’ve been fighting with God for 4 years. That is probably where the “feeling” that He is not there comes from.

We encourage you to speak to an older godly woman that you know and trust about what’s going on in your heart and mind. She can help you to begin to process through your emotions as you pursue God. Express your anger to God. Tell Him all about what you are thinking and feeling. He can handle it. He has the beautiful ability to redeem the grief and loss we carry in our brokenness and use it for our good and for His glory. He never promises that bad things will not happen to us. But He does promise to never leave us nor forsake us–even if our emotions/feelings tell us otherwise.

I’m praying for you today, Michaela, asking God to use His Word to speak truth to your heart so that you can dispel the lies of the enemy. I’m also asking Him to show you who you can talk to about all that is going on in your heart and mind – someone who can pray for you, encourage you, support you, point you to Jesus, and guide you to further help if it is needed. Keep pursuing God, Michaela! You will never regret that decision!

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion—to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.” (Is. 61:1-3)
