Got Difficult People? Here’s Help!

Revive Our Hearts has just released a brand-new Bible study, Abigail: Living with the Difficult People in Your Life.

If you’re looking for a tool to help you dig into God’s Word, this six-week study is a great one to pick up. Here are six reasons why:

  1. This Bible study will get you into the Word. It’ll get you reading Scripture, thinking, writing, praying, and applying. (That’s what we need from a Bible study, right?) So if you’ve gotten in to a rut with your Bible reading or you’ve totally been avoiding it, here’s your chance to jump right back in.
  2. Abigail isn’t overwhelming! I’m a big fan of this study’s simplicity. It’s not complicated. It simply helps you unpack the lessons found in 1 Samuel 25 so you can apply them to your life. It’s totally doable, and I don’t think you’ll get lost or overwhelmed.
  3. We all need help with the difficult people in our lives. We all have those people in our lives, right? The difficult ones. The frustrating ones. The ones who are . . . well, rather foolish. If you’re not sure how to deal with those people and situations in your life—and if you’ve been the difficult person!—Abigail will help you form a biblical perspective.
  4. There’s beautiful hand lettering inside! My friend, Nicole Tejera, designed this Bible study, and her gorgeous artwork graces the pages of this book. I’m such a fan!
  5. Bonus bundle! When you get this Bible study, you’ll also receive a bonus bundle of “digital goodies” sent straight to your inbox. The bundle includes pretty lockscreens, social squares, and a digital version of the study.
  6. We’re studying Abigail together in online community! This is exciting news, because it’s our first-ever online study here at Revive Our Hearts. Our good friend Paula Marsteller (you may know her from her great posts here on the blog) will be leading discussions about the topics in the Abigail study. Here are the quick details:
    • Where? Facebook Live!
    • When? Every Tuesday, starting July 31, at 7 p.m. ET
    • Who? Paula and friends!
    • Why? So we can dig into truth together.

So how do you get your hands on a copy of the Abigail Bible study? Glad you asked. Revive Our Hearts is offering to send a copy of this brand-new study for a gift of any amount. You’ll get the physical copy of the study book AND that bonus digital bundle sent to your email inbox. (Get all the details right here.)

And you’ll want to get a copy soon, because the online study starts one week from today, on July 31! You can join the Facebook event page here.

But there’s more! Could we share news like this without a giveaway? (Nope! Because we love giveaways!) Revive Our Hearts has graciously provided TEN copies of the Abigail study to give away to YOU, our readers!

Here’s how to enter:

  • Log in to the giveaway widget below.
  • Leave a comment, telling us why you’d like a copy of Abigail.
  • Ten of you will be randomly selected to receive a copy!

Note for our friends who don’t have social media: We do realize many of you don’t have Facebook, so that leaves you feeling left out from the online study. Here’s the good news: You can still complete the Abigail Bible study without the online discussions. The online study is just another resource to help you apply what you’re learning in the Bible study itself. You could also find a friend or parent or sibling who has Facebook and ask if you could watch the online study together through their account!

Really just so excited for this study that God plopped into my lap first thing this morning! While my problems are not necessarily in church, there are people in my life who I need to learn to love in a more God Honoring way.

  • Leslie

I want this book to help my relationship with my friends and family. Thanks for letting us have this chance to win the book.

Wow! I love the all the books you guys do! My sister and mom just recently both got “The quiet place”! I haven’t gotten one but they both love it and I have listened to one of them and absolutely loved it! I can’t wait to read this one at some point! Thank you!

(I entered with my personal email)
I really admire Abigail’s courage, grace and wisdom and really want to be that way too. I feel like I tend to be blunt or foolish a lot of the time because I don’t know what to say and I’m hoping that I can learn from her on how to act instead. God’s been convicting me recently that I need to love people more actively, no matter how they act or how I feel, and have a tender heart. I also would be delighted to have a Bible study because I haven’t had one in a while and I love how revitalizing they often are to my daily reading.

  • Prairie Girl

I would love a copy of this – simply because of what wonderful lessons we can learn through the lives of ordinary women!

  • Adaline Griffiths

  • Dorothy

I actually recently got into a management position at my job. So dealing with difficult people is basically my job. It’s really hard, but I really want to be an encouragement to the people under me and Christ to be the center of my responses even when I have to perform “discipline”. So this book sounds really applicable and exciting to my life.
I hope entered the giveaway right, I did it through FB.

  • Yuliya Nikiforets

I lead a worship team of 15 people at my church and every single individual had a different character, different strengths/weaknesses, different ways of relating, etc. so I would love to learn how to better lead, solve conflict, and deal with difficult people so that we can build a stronger team dynamic and not let that hinder our worship.
    Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

I would love to get this book because it can be really hard to be kind to those difficult people. I know I will encounter many of those people and want to be prepared! This book will help me! Thank you or this opportunity!

  • Rachel Lee

I would like the Bible study because I deal with a lot of difficult to love people in my life from people at school to home to church, I need a solid understanding of how I can extend grace to people who I don’t want to love. Also I don’t know who Abigail is in the Bible so learning a new character would sharpen my biblical knowledge.

  • Rebecca

Abigail is one of my favorite biblical women, and although she wasn’t perfect (marrying a polygamist) , her character and valiance shine through her countenance in the little that is written about her. I would love to see her put into the spotlight and dive into the qualities that surround her! 🙂

  • Erika

I’d love to give a copy to my mom as a gift, I’m sure she’ll love it 🙂

  • Brenda

I have always loved the story of Abigail. I have admired her calmness and quick
thinking in adverting and diffusing a bad situation.

  • Kk

I would love to share this book!

  • Sylvia

As a teacher and house owner, I would like to learn how to deal with a difficult person and to learn if I am a difficult person. I am also very curious as to how thos study will tall about Abigail as her story is often overlooked.

  • Maria Gutierrez

I’d like a copy of the Abigail study because dealing with difficult people is something I’m not very good at. It’s not something that is easy to do and I’d love to learn a more biblical way of dealing with this.

  • Annie

I was so excited to hear about this study! I would love to receive a copy of the Abigail study is because, due to chronic illness, I am unable to participate in regular biblical studies with my church. Doing something like this online through Facebook Live is a great way to reach those, for whatever, cannot participate in normal church activities due to illness. On a personal note, I think the topic is very interesting and applicable to my life. Difficult people bring down my mood, especially as I desperately try to please everyone. It gets even worse when things get bottled up inside me and then I explode! Difficult people are everywhere and I would like some biblical perspective on how to handle them.

  • Alice
