True Woman Teen Track: An Interview with Dannah Gresh

News & Updates posted by Erin Davis on 03/08/10; 4 comments

The True Woman ‘10 Conference in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is just around the corner. We hope you're planning to join Dannah and I Friday, March 26, at the True Woman Teen Track!

Dannah GreshI caught up with Dannah this week to get a sneak peak at what's in store for those who will attend.

Erin: What can girls expect to experience at the True Woman teen track?

Dannah: Erin, your LYWB.com host, and I have worked hard to make it both spiritually meaty and fun. We'll be hosting "Lies Young Women Believe LIVE!" This talk-show meets game-show format ensures plenty of brain breaks, including Erin's "Let's Make A Deal" games and celebrity talk show interviews as other speakers and musical artists visit us to candidly talk about lies they have believed and the truth that set them free. A highlight from the last Lies Young Women Believe LIVE! event at True Woman was having Keith and Krysten Getty come visit for an interview. They talked about their sweet love life, and the very beautiful Krysten confessed the lies she believes about her beauty. Between the fun, Erin and I will open up God's Word to teach.

Erin: What specific lies will you be addressing during the teaching time?

Dannah: You've got to know that we'll touch on the Lies about Guys! I'll tackle that using some new research that God has led me to about guy/girl relationships—why they hurt so much when we misuse them, and why they are so great when we wait for God's timing. We will also tackle Lies about Beauty. Erin tackles that one because she's the author of Graffiti, a book about learning to see the art in ourselves. Finally, we'll hit Lies about Womanhood.

Erin: Why did you choose to address these lies?

Dannah: Since our time is short, we wanted to address the lies that are at the top of the minds of teen women. These are the ones that the majority struggle with, and we want to make sure we send everyone away with the truth to set them free.

Erin: What are you most looking forward to about the True Woman conference?

Dannah: I'm headed straight there from a two-week vacation! I am looking forward to God refreshing me on the first real vacation that I've been able to take in three years. I think that I'll be able to minister from a rested heart, and that excites me. But I'm also really excited about spending time with my dear friends Erin Davis and, of course, Nancy Leigh DeMoss. It'd be really cool if you guys could pray for Nancy as she leads this event. It can be challenging to manage everything, and I have been nudged by God to really pray for her. Would you join me?

There is still time to register for the Chattanooga conference or one of the two other True Woman ‘10 Conferences scheduled for this year. For more information, check out www.truewoman.com. If you can't attend, you can still be a part of this awesome event through the blog. Watch for live blogging updates by your favorite LYWB.com writers in the coming weeks.

HEY, GIRLS! We love hearing from you, but feel limited in the ways we can help. For one thing, we’re not trained counselors. If you’re seeking counsel, we encourage you to talk to your pastor or a godly woman in your life as they’ll know more details and can provide you with ongoing accountability and help.
